Behaviour

Behaviour and Discipline Policy

Our behaviour policy has been written for the staff/pupils/governors/parents of St Paul’s Catholic Primary School.  It is expected that staff and children will adhere to the expectations set out in order that the behaviour for learning criteria are met.

We work with the principles set out by St John Bosco, founder of the Salesian movement.  This involves four attitudes, which spell out RUAH, the Christian, Hebrew, Christian and Islamic word for spirit.

Respect – children and adults should have mutual respect for each other.

Understanding –  we listen to the needs of the young and recognise faults as due largely to thoughtlessness.

Affection – we make the first move, in showing warmth; find something to encourage and praise; use a quiet word in the ear

Humour/happiness – we try to be consistently cheerful and celebrate achievement often.
